Jared Sullinger’s dad doesn’t appreciate the beating his son takes game to game, particularly from certain programs:
“Some of these bush-league coaches are beating on him just to make him lose his cool,” Satch Sullinger said. “I have no problem as long as it’s within the spirit of the game … but during a recent game, everyone elbowed him in the back on purpose when they came through. The first time you see it, you can say it’s an accident; the second time it’s a pattern; third time, it’s a program.”
Satch did not need to spell out W-I-S-C-O-N-S-I-N to know which program he meant.
In three games against the Badgers, this is what Sullinger has done:
- Feb. 4, 2012: 24 points, 10 rebounds, 8-10 FTs
- Feb. 12, 2011: 19 points, 12 rebounds, 4-4 FTs
- March 6, 2011: 22 points, 8 rebounds, 6-8 FTs
One would think Sullinger would like to play Wisconsin every week, given these numbers. Ohio State hosts Wisconsin on Feb. 26.
Also: Tonight, in a loss to Michigan State, Sullinger had 17 points, 16 rebounds and 10 turnovers. Quite a triple double there.
