We haven’t checked in on Jerry Sandusky in a while. Let’s see what he’s up to:
BELLEFONTE, Pa. — Jerry Sandusky wants copies of secret grand jury testimony to help him prepare for trial on charges he sexually abused 10 boys.
Sandusky lawyer Joe Amendola said late Monday he filed a court motion seeking transcripts of testimony by any witness the attorney general intends to call to testify.
Amendola says he’s against the prosecutors’ request to bring in a jury from outside Centre County to hear the case. He says he’ll file his formal response this week.
There’s a hearing scheduled Friday. Among other things, he wants to be allowed to have contact with his grandchildren.
Update: Meanwhile, Sandusky’s lawyer is calling the accusers liars (which is the basis of his entire defense, come to think of it):
An attorney for former Penn State assistant football coach Jerry Sandusky wants a judge to order prosecutors to turn over hundreds of pages of investigative reports, psychiatric evaluations and other evidence that he says prosecutors have withheld or redacted.
In a motion filed Tuesday in Centre County Common Pleas Court, lawyer Joseph Amendola said he believes those notes contain information that will show several of the former coach’s alleged victims have “not been consistent or truthful” in their accusations.
“The accusers may have collaborated with each other in making these false accusations,” Amendola wrote in court filings.
