Iowa Wrestling’s Lost Weekend

January 23, 2012

Iowa Wrestling, OSU, PSU

The Hawkeyes have dropped two straight.

What in the hell is wrong with Iowa wrestling?

Two weeks ago, the Hawkeyes were riding an 84-dual unbeaten streak that stretched back to January 2008. That was snapped Jan. 8 by Oklahoma State.

Now, the No. 2 Hawkeyes have lost back-to-back Big Ten duals after falling to No. 3 Penn State Sunday in State College – just two days after losing to Ohio State for the first time in 34 duals.

It is the first time Iowa has lost two straight since 2006.

Next up? No. 4 Minnesota at Carver-Hawkeye Arena.

I just don’t know what to believe any more.

This Gopher-Hawkeye dually will be a barn-burner. They always are.
