Season so far: 8-3.
Good wins: Nothing spectacular, though beat USC 64-61 in two overtimes in Los Angeles.
Bad losses: Nothing too bad, losing to Oregon at home, at Wake Forest in the Big Ten-ACC Challenge, and at Creighton (which also has beaten Northwestern and Penn State to take an early lead in the bottom division in the Big Ten).
Leaders: Scoring: Bo Spencer 16.0, Jorge Diaz 10.9; Rebounds: Brandon Ubel 6.4, Diaz 4.9; Assists: Spencer 4.3, Brandon Richardson 2.8.
Best case scenario: So far, the Cornhuskers are winning the games they should and losing the games they should. No real blowouts either way. At best, Nebraska can hope to hold serve with the lesser teams in the conference while taking its lumps in its first season in the Big Ten. 5-13.
Worst cast scenario: Have you seen Nebraska’s first four games? Home against Wisconsin and Michigan State and then at Ohio State and Illinois. Then they play Penn State in Lincoln before facing Wisconsin, Indiana and Ohio State. That’s devastating. Still, they have a chance against Iowa and Penn State. 2-16.
Prediction: 3-15. It’s going to be bad.
