Big Ten Roundup: Three Romps And Illinois

We don't know what's wrong with Illinois, either, Bruce.

It looks like the UMKC will not win the Big Ten this year.

A month after losing 77-31 to Wisconsin, the Kangaroos took a similar beating – 89-54 – to Michigan State on Monday. The Spartans led 16-2 early and 40-20 at halftime. That just about tells the story.

It was a similar show in Bloomington, where Indiana destroyed Howard 107-50 behind six players in double figures, while Iowa beat Central Arkansas 105-64 in a laugher.

And Illinois?

Well, Illinois continued to struggle with substandard opponents, edging Cornell 64-60 after losing big to UNLV and barely beating St. Bonaventure two weeks ago. Illinois trailed by 10 points in the first half and six in the second.

What’s going on in Champaign? Whatever it is, there’s a good reason they have slid to No. 25 despite an 11-1 record.
