Nebraska: Caputo Still May Play In Bowl

It seems Nebraska center Mike Caputo may get to play in the Capital One Bowl, even after being cited for suspicion of DUI after he was found asleep in his car.

From the Journal Star:

Pelini also was not ready to say anything definitive when it came to the bowl game status of senior center Mike Caputo. …

Pelini did suspend Rickey Thenarse and Baker Steinkuhler last bowl season for citations, but the coach noted that every situation is a different one.

In Caputo’s case, one factor in his favor may be that he has had a clean record prior to the incident.

“I make the decision that first of all is in the best interest of our program, that second of all is in the best interest of each kid,” Pelini said. “I handle each situation separately, differently, and look at the facts and make the decision that is right.”

Fair enough. It’s not like this is the third time, like a certain Penn State player who got pass after pass in Happy Valley.
